Elisen Lebkuchen
The Elisen Lebkuchen is the gold standard of lebkuchen, the most popular Christmas cookie in Germany. Its recipe contains less than 10% flour, yielding more to the rich flavors of its complex spice mixture, nuts, seeds and dried fruit. As it is believed to be created by monks, it is cleverly baked on a communion wafer, lest the cookies stick to the sheet pan. It comes as a 5-pack assortment.
